I’ve always loved the bright colours and satin finish of anodised aluminium and after experimenting for a while I’m happy to say that I’ve had a go. It’s not practical to take this any further without investing in better quality equipment and materials, and I’m not planning on doing it full time.
What did I learn?
Alcohol inks are a fun and easy way to colour your work, but if you really want control over the final piece you’d want a dedicated aluminium work space, to do your own anodising and to keep everything spotlessly clean.
Best bit?
Learning how to make small colourful domed discs.
