Inspired by Korean patchwork...

조각보

This series of glass work is inspired by Korean patchwork, Jogakbo 조각보. In the past, when fabric was a precious commodity in Korea, all scraps of material were kept and sewn together to make larger pieces for wrapping cloths and window hangings.

I have lots of small pieces of glass and, like in jogakbo, I used up some of my leftovers to make these larger glass dishes. A soft colour palette felt appropriate for these.
